6 Ways to Save Money in Disney World in 2021!

Planning a trip to Walt Disney World in 2021? There are many ways to save a few extra dollars off of your trip this year. Check out this post for every way you can currently save money on your trip!

Up to 35% off Room Discount

If you are planning on staying most nights from January 3 through April 17, 2021, Disney is offering up to 35% off of rooms at select Disney resorts hotels. This is a great deal if you’re planning on visiting Disney through the winter and spring break season.

2 Free Tickets Offer

If you are planning on staying most nights from January 8 through September 25, 2021, Disney is offering two extra days of free park tickets on select four-night three-day room and ticket packages. This is an amazing deal as Disney never gives away free tickets.

I highly suggest looking at both offers to see which offer saves you more money. In most situations, if you are planning on staying at a value or moderate resort the two free days of tickets is going to save you more money. The up to 35% off deal is going to be the better option if you are planning on staying at a deluxe resort as you will be able to utilize the entire 35% off.

Military Discount

If you or someone in your vacation party is part of the US Military there are constantly additional discounts. Currently, if you purchase your tickets now through February 14, 2021, there are several different promotional ticket offers for four, five days, and six-day vacations. This is valid from December 19, 2020, through September 26, 2021.

Disney is constantly adding new military discounts so I recommend checking out this link to their offer page to see what is currently available!

Annual Passholder Discount

This year Disney is offering more and more discounts to their annual pass holders. Currently through March 11, 2021, annual pass holders can receive up to 30% on select rooms plus receive a $50 resort credit per night.

There is also a separate offer or you can save up to 40% on rooms from January 3 through April 17, 2021.

Also remember that annual pass holders save on food, merchandise, and vacation add-ons throughout Disney property. You also do not have to be a Florida resident to be an annual pass holder. If you are planning on visiting Disney World more than once this year it is worth looking at an annual pass. Also, remember that only one person in your party has to have an annual pass to be able to take advantage of those merchandise and food discounts.

Skip the Park Hopper

Starting January 1, 2021, park hopping is back. After the re-opening in 2020 park hopping was removed as an option in the Walt Disney World parks. Even though it is now back there are still many regulations and restrictions on park hopping.

You must still get a park reservation for the first park you plan on visiting that day. You will then not be able to park hopper until after 2 PM each day. You will also have to ensure that the park you are park hopping to has availability and has not hit capacity. As someone who always buys the park hopper, I have found that if you were going to the parks during shorter park hours (ie the winter season) park-hopping may not be worth the extra $80 per person.

More than likely you’re going to spend an hour to an hour and a half traveling between the two parks. 2 o’clock is now going to be a very busy time for transportation in Walt Disney World. This also means that bag check, security, and ticket scanning is going to be busy as well. If you are planning on heading to a park that closes at 5 PM and you cannot park hopper until 2 PM it may not be worth it as you will probably not get into that next park until 3 maybe even 3:30 PM.

Due to this, it may be worth doing a little bit of research and analyzing if that extra $80 a person is worth it this vacation.

Buy Discount Disney Gift Cards

As always I highly recommend paying for your Walt Disney World vacation using Disney gift cards. Many stores like Target, Costco, Sam’s Club, and many more offer discounts on gift cards. This includes Disney gift cards. I use this trick every time I go on a Disney vacation and it allows me to save a few extra hundred dollars. Check out my post here to see how Target saved me an additional $150 off my 2021 vacation!
