Everything You Need From the Dollar Store for Disney World!

Disney World can be very expensive if you do not prepare properly. One way that I save money is by purchasing many of the things I may need for my trip at the Dollar Store! This allows me to avoid paying theme park pricing for common day items. There are also many things that you may pick up from Target or Wal-Mart for a lot less! Check out my list of everything worth picking up for your trip!

Ponchos

Flordia and rain go hand and hand. This is why it is extremely important to have a few ponchos in your park bag for an unexpected rain shower. I love to pick up a few plastic ponchos from the dollar store before my trip. These are extremely thin and small and will slip into any size bag. Even though the forecast may not be calling for rain freak downpours happen frequently during the rainy season in Florida. I usually pick up a handful of these for my trip every time since they are a dollar.

Disney Notebooks

If you are planning on meeting characters one of the very fun things to do is to get their autographs. Although Disney does sell autograph books these can range from anywhere from $15-$30. Luckily the dollar store usually has Disney themed notebooks. If you are planning on getting autographs from the characters but do not want to spend $30 on an autograph book this is a great alternative.

Large Markers

Going hand-in-hand with autograph books you will also need some sort of pen or marker for the character to sign their autograph. Many characters have very large gloved hands and cast members recommend large markers or pens because it is easier for them to grab. I love these large jumbo markers from the dollar store because they fit perfectly in the character’s hands and the autograph comes out smoother.

Luggage Tags

Starting 2021 Disney will not be providing free Disney themed luggage tags with your purchase Abby Walt Disney World vacation. It may be worth your while to pick up a few luggage tags from the dollar store instead. I have also seen Disney themed luggage tags over the years.   ]

Light-Up Toys

These can be so much fun and an awesome addition to any Walt Disney World vacation. Once the sun goes down and it begins to get dark, Disney cast members will appear with carts full of light-up toys that will range anywhere from $20-$50. This is why I like to pick up some glow sticks and light-up toys beforehand so that I can still enjoy the fun without paying the Walt Disney World price. This is also great if you have little kids in your family who are going to beg for those very overpriced light up toys. Keep these hidden away in your stroller and pull them out just as these cast members appear to save you a few dollars.

Activity Books/Toys

The dollar store is full of Disney themed items from toys to activity books to stickers and more. If you have a lot of little kids and your family I highly recommend picking up a bunch of this. Not only can use them to help keep them entertained in line or during the trip to Disney, but it is also great if they are any gift shop demanding a toy. Keep a few of these little toys hidden away in your stroller and pull them out to save you from buying an overpriced toy.

Laundry Bags

Disney resort hotel rooms can be somewhat small and become overwhelming when you bring in several suitcases and lots of items. One way that I keep my hotel room organized as having a laundry bag or basket. Luckily the Dollar store has these. I like to pick up a laundry hamper and fill it with my dirty clothes throughout the week. If you are driving, you can pick that hamper up and put it right into your car. That way you keep the dirty clothes away from the clean clothes but it also makes laundry much easier when you get home. if you’re flying you may be interested in a mesh laundry bag as it’ll be easier to fly with.

Tissues

No matter what time of the year it is you’re always going to need tissues. I really like the travel packs that come from the dollar store because they are only a dollar.

Travel Bottles

If you’re flying and need to consolidate your larger toiletries into smaller toiletries these travel bottles are great. even though they’re only a dollar I use them every time and as long as you screw on the lid tight they do not leak.

Toiletries

The dollar store is stocked with every toiletry you can think of. From Band-Aids to toothbrushes deodorant soap and more there are plenty of things in travel size or smaller sizes that you can take advantage of for your trip.

Headphones and Chargers

Make sure to check out the technology aisle in the dollar store. It is full of cheap headphones and cords that are great for vacationing in case you lose them. I highly recommend picking up a few pairs of those cheap headphones if you have a child that will be using their iPad on the trip. Headphones can be easily lost and can be very expensive. It’s better to lose a pair if you paid a dollar for than the pair you paid $100 for.

Shower Liner/ Stroller Cover

If you are planning on taking a stroller of any shape or size and do not want to invest in an expensive stroller cover, The dollar store has several shower liners that are patterned and clear. These are great to throw over your stroller while it’s in stroller parking to keep it from getting rained on.

First Aid Supplies

The dollar store is also packed with several different first aid supplies. I highly recommend checking out the section for Band-Aids shoe inserts, and more.

Cleaning Supplies

The dollar store is also full of cleaning supplies. Obviously now in response because you may need to take a few extra things with you that you normally did not have to. The dollar store is full of hand sanitizer disinfecting wipes soap and more. Many of them are also brand-name but at a much cheaper price. Make sure to check out the section to see what else you may want to pick up.

I highly recommend checking out the entire dollar store before your Walt Disney Robbie Acacian. The stock is constantly changing and they’re always bringing in new things that you may be able to use to save during your vacation.
