1. External Battery

External Batteries can be a lifesaver in Disney World. Between the My Disney Experience App and taking photos, my phone battery is dead by lunch. Having a large external battery has saved my butt many times. Check the one I use below!

2. Reusable Poncho

Even though Disney World is the happiest place on earth, it is not safe from the rain. I have found that reusable ponchos work best for those nasty downpours. They are much easier to pack up than the cheap dollar plastic ones and also more environmentally friendly.

3. Park Blanket

A Blanket?!? I know you’re asking yourself why you need a blanket in Flordia in the middle of summer, but you need this one. This blanket can be a lifesaver in Disney World, especially if you have small children. This can be used when you are waiting for a firework show or parade to layout and sit on while you wait. It would also work great if you have a child who refuses to stand while in long unmoving lines.

4. Extra SD Cards

If you anything like me, you still believe that nothing beats a DSLR photo. This also means that you will need plenty of SD cards to fill up.

5. Luggage Scale

If you travel a lot, having a luggage scale can be extremely handy. Every time I fly I end up trying to unsuccessfully sit my suitcase on my old scale to see if it weighs more than 50 pounds. Now that I have picked up a luggage scale, I don’t have to go through this hassle anymore.

This can also be extremely handy when packing to go home. If your suitcase was close to the limit before leaving for your trip, those added souvenirs may be enough to tip the scale. Taking this with you would be a great way to double-check before leaving for the airport.

7. Handheld Fans

As we know, the Flordia heat can make any day in Disney miserable. It is important to pick up a few things before your trip to help counter that. One of my favorites is mini portable fans. They blow just enough air to cool you down while standing in line in the 100-degree heat. Disney does sell these in the park but will cost 2 or 3 times more.

8. Cooling Neck Wraps/ Towels

While we are on the topic of staying cool, here is another great item to have while visiting Walt Disney World. These are great to carry in your pack bag and put around your neck when your feeling hot. I have seen more and more guests with these in my past trips to Walt Disney World.

9. Hidden Mickey Book or Disney Fact Book

This is not a necessity but always a fun addition to any Walt Disney World Trip. They are also a great way to keep children entertained while waiting. Check out some of my favorites below!

10. Reusable Straws

Now that Disney Parks have moved towards a green initiative, you will no longer see plastic straws in the parks. You will now receive paper straws in their place. Although I love this initiative, I hate paper straws. They don’t feel right in your mouth and fall apart in your drink. Because of this, I have been carrying metal reusable straws in my bag to use. If you also dislike paper straws, you may want to check out the ones I use below!
